F/A-18D Hornet fire at Kuantan: Malaysian crew ejects safely, probe ordered

A Malaysian F/A-18D Hornet burst into flames during takeoff at Kuantan Air Base, sending the pilot and weapons system officer out on ejection seats. Both were checked at a military hospital and discharged in stable condition. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has ordered a full investigation. The jet is one of eight Hornets Malaysia has operated since 1997.
