Bristol protests: Anti-immigration march outnumbered five to one amid heavy police presence

Around 50 anti-immigration protesters in Bristol were met by roughly 250 counter-protesters on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Police managed the tense stand-off with a large operation, one arrest, and a dispersal zone in place until Sunday morning. Roads were closed during the demonstrations and later reopened. Officers were praised for keeping the peace despite reports of assaults on police.
